vestibular nerve
fibers arise from
neurons
of Scarpa's ganglion and project peripherally to vestibular
hair
cells
and centrally to the
VESTIBULAR NUCLEI
of the
BRAIN STEM
. These fibers mediate the sense of balance and
head
position.
